Lincoln, Hingham, 1914" (Randall Lincoln), John's tag reads "Toy Tub by Cotton Hersey, Hersey St., Hingham, Mass...I acquired the toy from Mrs. Mason A. Foley. It was in her husband Mason A. Foley Small collection of Hingham Toyware...Foley died in 1962." J.P.R., (Note: In our opinion, John misread the initials, and it appears to be stamped "SH" not "CH"), exceptionally fine condition with a rare Hingham provenance, 1 3/4" h at rim, 2 1/4" dia at rim.

Hingham, Mass. who said it was made from a Great White Oak Tree that stood on Main St. before the 1633 Settlement...JPR, Old Fort House Hingham", retains bark around the base, rectangular fixed twig handle attached with two screws, original round blue and black paper label on base showing a Hingham bucket, 5 1/2" h, 3" dia at base, also separate small tag "From the Hingham Arts & Crafts Society member Mrs. Williard.".
