19th c. oval box in red, stamped "I.H. 2" on top and "I.H." on the bottom, inside lid is a pencil addition of dozens of eggs, 2 1/4" h, 5 1/2" l.

BUTTER CHURN

Rare 18th c. New England butter churn, complete with double dasher, pine, old red finish, one-piece construction from a hollowed log, stamped "WOL" on handle (Wm. Lincoln 1729-1792), iron hasps added later to stop cracking of wood, "one of the oldest surviving Hingham woodenware artifacts." (JPR), 29" h to top of handle.

DEMI-JOHN BOTTLE

Unusual cased demi-john bottle, in a pine fringed case, pyramid-shaped top with applied tin corners, cast iron hasp for lock, and cast iron handles, found in the Howe General Store cellar, "The Demi-John was in case when found" (JPR), 17" h.

17th c. brass platform base candlestick, "once belonged to Hingham settler Samuel Lincoln who died in 1690", 7 1/2" h; Note: this is one of the earliest brass candlesticks ever found with a Hingham history dating to Samuel Lincoln (1622-1690), one of Hingham's earliest Settlers, who helped build the Old Ship Church, and was Great, Great, Great, Great Grandfather of President Abraham Lincoln

Randall Lincoln home on Main Street; the jar came from Dorothy Hersey, corner of Beal and North Street.

Replicas of the Minot's Ledge Lighthouse of Cohasset, Mass., 20" and 18" h; and a 1905 postcard showing the later built solid structure, the models were said to have been built in a garage in Scituate, Mass. in the 1920's.

Rosewood framed reverse glass painting of Florence Nightingale, silhouette style, leaning on a fancy table holding a green book, "found in the Allan Gay house, birthplace of abolitionist Sydney Howard Gay...F.
